What a day! Well, it was not a good day. It was one of those awful days of rain, misery and suicidal thoughts. First of all there was a problem with the dates on the flyers for the launch of The Washroom Wall and second it was Tuesday, the day after Easter holiday. We did not expect a lot of people and… indeed the pub was half empty! And! And when we finished th performance and wanted to go home, Janos' car was clamped! 115 £? One day working! But never mind. At least Tom and Achara came to give us moral support and at the end of the day we don't perform only for an audience but also for ourselves. Masturbation of art. The performance started at exactly 21:14 and ended … well, I forgot to check my watch. As I said it was a shitty day. But it lasted approximately 30 minutes. Hiding in the little room just next to The Washroom Wall we entered the pub one by
one starting to do our individual performances.
Owen, a Touarek (spelling?)wearing a kind of a white raincoat with an umbrella lost on a beach, Sophie, a poor child just lost her mum
assuming that her uncle killed her, Michael looking for the ultimate answer to the question what life was all about with his plant and
satellite receiver thingy, Eirini, a plastic doll, a toy for I don't know, Christina wrapped into some sort of wrapping plastic cleaning an iron dinosaur, Janos, a secretly filming for Big Brother, Konstantina, a voice in the wind and last but not least me, Jay, as usual not very spectacular: The man who tapes people and builds his masking tape installation. The performance this time had a new element: sound. In the beginning and sometimes during the performance I would play the piano. Janos did the same at the end. On top of that there was Owen and Eirini talking and of course Sophie. Well, the performance in general was very atmospheric and dark. If you, dear reader, should have any questions do not hesitate to contact each performer… I know you won't do that because… well, because… you just don't do it. I find it very difficult to describe a performance. It is something you need to see, to experience. Wow! I almost forgot to mention our Guerilla filmer Jacqueline who as usually was filming the whole thing providing video stills you can view on this site.
