THE STRUGGLING MAN

The Struggling Man is the story of Man - man who is torn between his given form and his desire to be liberated from it. He is full of fear based on moral, social and political conventions, guidelines & rules. Although he has a very strong desire to break free he does not seem to be able to do so.I regard this is a very personal piece of work, a struggle I am going through. Very often one feels pressed into a corner from where one - I personally - want to escape, break free. The story process consists of individual scenes that represent parts of the process of his struggle.

The process of struggle has been fragmented & dissected into individual actions (which also could be dissected further to the smallest movement).

The viewer re-assembles the whole process by 'travelling' from scene to scene in order to create the whole story. As opposed to regular film the viewer needs to make an effort in order to see the whole process.

Each scene (endless loop) is to be projected or shown in devices such as computers, TVs, phones etc scattered around an exhibition space as part of a group show if possible. Some scenes can be projected as big as possible onto a wall, some shown in a hidden away TV monitor for example.

The video below shows a few random bits, fragments of the scenes. Please note that the bad acting will be improved... Absolutely and 100%! Besides this it should not say 'on different scenes' but 'on different screens' in the video. The sound is noise on a journey from Porto (Portugal) to the airport on the overground.
