Hi there! Violence towards other creatures and ourselves seems to be deeply rooted in human culture. I am wondering if it is the essence of what we are? Is violence a necessary attribute to the survival and evolution of the human species? After having seen video footage of racoon dogs being skinned alive I am determined to change this. I can't no longer ignore human atrocities in the name of human culture, beauty, health etc. I do not think that we -the humans- are a superior species. Humans are not of higher value just because we have the most developed brain and therefore are the most intelligent creatures on this planet. As long as we continue killing and torturing, consuming blindly and producing at the expense of others we are far from being civilised. Well, I think the best thing is to change our own environment. If we all clean up our mess we soon will have a clean planet that is proud to have humans as citizens. Frankly, I am very angry and sad. I am so ashamed of being human that I would like to disappear, vanish. I would like to go out there and kill those people. Primitive thoughts and desires are being bred in my heart. However, I know that this is not the way. A future based on bloodshed only bears fruit of destruction. No, I have to use this anger as a raw material and use it to the advantage of peace, of something 'good'. I want you to know that I am not an angel. I like bullying my friend Jonathan and crack racist jokes. I can be nasty and evil but at least I do have compassion. Let us all change the world and turn it into a good place.
